Friends of the Animal Community Foac is a very active successful Animal Rescue here in Tuolumne County. We place approximately 700 deserving animals in new homes per year. These animals come from our local Animal Control where they have a limited time on their stay and are in jeopardy of being euthanized. We also intake animals from the public, various circumstances where people are forced to make the decision to surrender their pets.
It is small but we do incredible work out of it. We can house about 6-8 large dogs and 4-5 small also there maybe one or two mother cats nursing kittens.
We have a continued need for Fosters!
At this moment we have 65 dogs & puppies as well as 55 cats & kittens. We provide any supplies a foster needs. Food puppy pads crates & even kennels. All animals in our program will be medically taken care of providing spay neuter vaccinations microchipped. Also Heartworm testing FIV testing for cats. Fosters are critical to our program We are always recruiting because the more fosters we have the more lives we can save!
Our volunteers are what makes Foac thrive. We have front positions available where your tasks are answering phones, completing paperwork, filing and best part adoption completion. We also need consistent good dog walkers. These volunteers need to know how to walk strong dogs with little obedience. Dog walkers come 6 days a week two hours per day. You can split days up.
We can also use transporters that take animals back & forth to medical appts as well as volunteers for adoption events.
We accept 12 year olds accompanied by an adult usually but during this spike of Covid that is not available
