The Motherlode Bicycle Coalition is an alliance of people and organizations working to promote cycling and encourage and educate our community to ride bicycles for transportation, recreation, health or just for fun. Our board and partners are passionate about making the Motherlode not just a better place to ride a bike, but a healthier, more prosperous and equitable place to live. We believe that encouraging biking on roads and trails in our communities, parks, and forests will contribute to the economic diversity and prosperity of our historic gold rush towns and region.
We are recruiting volunteers for advocacy, bike rodeos, bike repair clinics, adult bike ride events, community ride leaders for casual and sport level rides in Tuolumne as well as Amador, Calaveras, and Mariposa Counties.
The MLBC was founded in 2015 and has a seven member Board, over 25 members and yearly membership drive.
The Covid 19 and Delta virus has impacted all special events, bike rides and classes.
Advocacy activities including cycling tourism economic studies, participation in local Active Transportation Planning and formation of the Caltrans District 10 Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
We are growing, and new members and volunteers can make a difference.
