The Mother Lode Food Project is a completely volunteer run organization that works to ensure local food banks have a consistent supply of donations throughout the year, not just during holidays. Every even month, volunteers drop off a grocery bag full of food at one of many drop-off points throughout Tuolumne, and neighborhood coordinators then deliver those bags to the ATCAA food bank. ATCAA then distributes the food to many different organizations and populations. The goal is to make participation and distribution as easy as possible for everybody.
To participate, all you have to do is grab an extra food item or two each time you shop, add it to your green bag, and then deliver that bag to the pre-determined drop-off points on the drop-off day.
People of all ages can participate!
