California Highway Patrol

Description

About:

We provided services to the community by enforcement, education and safety. The California Highway Patrol is responsible for hundreds of miles in Tuolumne County.  We have a senior volunteer program which our volunteers assist our officers in multiple ways. CHP also has an Explorer program for our teens.  They also assist our officers in many different ways.

Volunteer Needs

Our senior volunteers assist with clerical tasks, such as filing paperwork, answering phones helping visitors in the lobby. They help officers during ride-a-longs with various tasks. The also help with traffic control during special events and assist the Public Information Officer at booths during events. The EXPLORERS learn what it takes to be law enforcement officers by having scenarios and real life experiences during Ride-a-longs.
