Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District
Description
About:
In 1959, a group of dedicated community members came together with one mission—to protect their neighbors. What started as a small volunteer fire department grew in strength and purpose, and in 1974, it united with the Sugar Pine Fire Protection District to become what we now know as the Mi-Wuk/Sugar Pine Fire Protection District. We are grateful our community has supported us for over 65 years! Beyond our district’s 1.2 square miles, we answer the call wherever we're needed, standing shoulder to shoulder with surrounding fire agencies to keep our community safe.Today, a small but mighty team of four full-time firefighters and one office manager stand ready to serve. But they can't do it alone. Volunteers—everyday heroes from our own community—are the backbone of our department. Roughly 22 volunteer firefighters give their time, skills, and courage to protect the 1,500 homes nestled within Mi-Wuk Village and Sugar Pine, along Highway 108. However, we are in need of non-firefighter volunteers as well!
