Sonora Police Department
Description
Our department has a volunteer program that we rely on to improve the quality of life in Sonora City. Volunteers help our community by conducting patrols, vacation checks of properties, special events like parades, assistance in traffic control in emergency events, subpoena service, office work, etc. This program is a perfect stepping stone for those who want to enter into a career in Law Enforcement and get on-the-job training before going to the academy.
We also have a Police Explorer Post for teens and young adults between the agents of 14 and 21. This program meets monthly and is structured like a mock academy to help those interested in Law Enforcement gain knowledge and experience in all walks of life. Good grades and dedication are needed to attend that program.
