Southside Community Connections is a dynamic nonprofit organization devoted to fostering meaningful connections, providing essential services, and enriching the lives of individuals in the Groveland and Big Oak Flat communities. Our mission is powered by dedicated volunteers and focused on making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Our Programs:
We provide a wide range of services and programs tailored to support and engage our community members:
Wheels: A door-to-door transportation program for disabled and elderly individuals, ensuring access to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and essential services within Groveland and Big Oak Flat.
WAVE: A free bus service for all Groveland and Big Oak Flat residents, departing daily from Mary Laveroni Park to Sonora or Modesto for medical appointments, shopping, and errands.
Village on the Hill Helping Hands: Volunteers assist members with household tasks like light cleaning, changing light bulbs and fire alarm batteries, and walking with members around their neighborhoods.
Friendly Faces: Volunteers engage with members through home visits, reading aloud, providing companionship, and offering daily call check-ins to ensure their well-being.
The Little House: Our vibrant community gathering place, open to all Groveland and Big Oak Flat residents, offering classes, group activities, and a welcoming space for connection.

Volunteer Needs:
Wheels:
- Transporting community members to doctor appointments.
- Delivering pre-ordered groceries
- Picking up mail from their mailbox
WAVE:
- Ride the bus along with visually impaired or limited mobility individuals to provide assistance during their outings.
Village on the Hill Helping Hands:
- Assist members with household tasks (ie.Light Cleaning, Changing Smoke Alarm Batteries and Light Bulbs)
Friendly Faces:
- Walk with members around their neighborhoods
- Engage with members through home visits
- Reading with Elderly Members
- Daily call check-ins
The Little House:
- Hosting classes or groups
- Gardening and basic landscaping
- Serving lunch to seniors and low-income individuals
- Assisting with administrative tasks
Fundraisers:
- May Golf Tournament and Fall Gala
- Event planning, logistics, and execution
- Assisting with setup/clean-up, check-in, and coordination on event days
