About:

Team ACES “Animal Care Emergency Services” is a FEMA and OES certified disaster team. Our purpose is help aid or run evacuation centers for all animals. Team ACES concentrates on the care and sheltering of displaced animals who are staying at an evacuation center during the event of a disaster.

Volunteer Needs:

Team ACES volunteers/members are responsible for monitoring and caring for any animals staying within the evacuation center during a disaster and assisting with the functionality of the evacuation center as a whole.

Examples of related tasks are:

  • Feeding, watering, walking/exercising animals
  • Cleaning stalls/cages/designated animal areas to keep them free of debris, feces, and promoting a generally clean and sanitary environment for the displaced animals.
  • Assist with administration medications and/or assist with veterinary related needs within the evacuation center on a as needed basis.
  • Volunteers may also assist with animal evacuation related paperwork, creating proper ID cards for animals, animal intake at the evacuation center and communications coming in and going out from evacuation center.
  • Various other animal evacuation center related tasks as assigned.
