The Tuolumne County Historical Society was established in 1956 to record, preserve, and perpetuate this area's colorful history. It operates the Tuolumne County Museum, which resides in the historic Tuolumne County Jail, and the History Research Center, home to the Tuolumne County History Collection.

Volunteer Tasks:

• Docent in the Museum
• Data entry using the Museum software
• Conservation of the many items in the Collection
• Work with Museum exhibits
• Garden in the old-fashioned grounds
