We have volunteer programs which give community members an opportunity to serve their communities. Our Senior Volunteer Program provides senior adult men and women the opportunity to volunteer their time to assist CHP employees in the performance of their duties. Those services include: Teach driver safety to seniors in the community, direct traffic at special events, work with local schools, assist with the front office and participate in ride-alongs with CHP officers.

Friends of the Animal Community – Foac

Friends of the Animal Community Foac is a very active successful Animal Rescue here in Tuolumne County. We place approximately 700 deserving animals in new homes per year. These animals come from our local Animal Control where they have a limited time on their stay and are in jeopardy of being euthanized. We also intake animals from the public, various circumstances where people are forced to make the decision to surrender their pets.

Mother Lode Community Radio – KAAD-LP

KAAD-LP is a non-profit, all-volunteer community radio station that has been broadcasting since early 2017. We are supported by individual contributors, grants and underwriting/sponsorships. We are designated by the FCC as a low-power station, which means our signal is mainly heard in Sonora at 103.5FM, with some spillover to Jamestown and Columbia. Therefore, the bulk of our listeners find us on the internet streaming at kaad-lp.org.

Mother Lode Food Project

The Mother Lode Food Project is a completely volunteer run organization that works to ensure local food banks have a consistent supply of donations throughout the year, not just during holidays. Every even month, volunteers drop off a grocery bag full of food at one of many drop-off points throughout Tuolumne, and neighborhood coordinators then deliver those bags to the ATCAA food bank. ATCAA then distributes the food to many different organizations and populations. The goal is to make participation and distribution as easy as possible for everybody.

Rock in Road

Rock in Road is a 501(c)3 that was formed in 2015 to focus on projects that benefit the Strawberry community. Rock In Road’s mission is to enhance The Strawberry Way at the festival and extend the Strawberry Way into the greater world. To that end, Rock In Road has recently piloted a return of the Breakfast Club to its full glory, is attempting to eliminate plastic waste at the festival drink booth (Strawberry Way Cafe), and has raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of youth music and local band programs through annual fundraisers, such as the Band Stand concert/dinner and the DeLacy Memorial Golf Tournament. Rock In Road welcomes new volunteers and is always looking for new opportunities to fulfill its mission and provide support to our Folk traditions and way of life.
