Mother Lode Wildlife Care

Description

We are an all-volunteer non-profit public 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured / orphaned wildlife in Tuolumne and nearby counties, with special focus on birds and squirrels. We are permitted with CA Fish & Wildlife and US Fish & Wildlife. We are not government funded sorely on donations from generous community donors. Our volunteers have the facilities and approved training to ensure that wildlife in need receives the best possible care and has the greatest chance of being released back into the appropriate habitat, capable of surviving on its own.

Volunteer Openings:

We are looking for shelter volunteers, willing to commit to a 4 hour shift, one day each week. We will train you to care for and handle the species of wildlife that comes in to care, from baby songbirds to hawks and owls, squirrels, opossums, and more. This work includes a lot of food preparation, feeding, cleaning, cage building and maintenance, and paperwork.
