Centerstage Superstars

Hello Fellow Motherlode Leaders, I'm Marleen and I direct Centerstage Performing Arts and Centerstage Media Project, our 501c3 organization. Allow me to share an exciting new 2024 direction!

Since our 1994 inception we have offered training and performance experience in the Performing Arts; Dance, Acting, Musicality, and seasonal stage and digital media productions.

In 2022, the direction widened to inclusionary programs for developmentally/intellectually challenged children and adults, (DDI)which now represents over 70% of our work. These students, both children and adult, bring a gentle spirit and fragrance that's hard to put into words.  Our job is to see through their eyes, train for inclusion in professional roles in theater and film and provide initial talent management services to individuals who desires it.

In Nov of 2023, the DEPT HHS's Mountain Valley Regional Center in Stockton approved our LOI to design a program to be "vendorized" by MVRC so any DDI individual can participate, as the program cost is covered by the state.  The program will take 12 months to set up, and during that time we want to hear from all or any of you with comments or advice.

We are looking to contract artists in all genres of the performing arts, (we know there are abundant in our community) as well as administrative and supervisory support for this Program called the Centerstage Superstars.

I wish you all the best in the goals of your agencies for 2024 and hope to work in partnership with all you for the empowerment of each precious human being we serve. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or comments. I would love to hear how your goals may intersect in some way with ours.

Volunteer Tasks:

  • We will need help in the classrooms teaching dance musicality and acting. The volunteer will just be available for our beautiful clients.
  • We also need someone to serve lunch and play piano accompaniment for our songs!
  • We can always use volunteers who have accounting and or administrative skills to work behind the scenes with our leadership. The is a lot of reporting that is done daily on each individual.
