ConAmor Building Bridges
Description
Mission:
ConAmor Building Bridges is a Tuolumne County nonprofit that believes that even the most divided communities can create opportunities for connection—when we intentionally build bridges. We create spaces where people of all backgrounds feel seen, valued, and empowered to participate in civic life. Through cultural celebration, historical truth‑telling, and community dialogue, we uplift the voices and stories too often left out of the narrative. Our work strengthens belonging, deepens cross‑cultural understanding, and builds the civic capacity needed for a more quitable and united region.
Organizational Overview:
ConAmor Building Bridges was founded to address a critical need in Tuolumne County: the absence of inclusive spaces where Indigenous, Immigrant, and historically marginalized communities can see themselves reflected in public life. Our programs aim to transform community relationships by honoring multicultural histories, amplifying underrepresented voices, and fostering meaningful dialogue across differences.
Our Approach:
- Civic Engagement:
Programs that elevate marginalized voices and expand participation in local decision‑making. - Cultural Celebrations:
Events that honor immigrant contributions and strengthen community pride. - Educational Initiatives:
Articles, publications, and public‑facing materials that bring inclusive history into mainstream understanding. - Bridge‑Building Dialogues:
Spaces that invite exchange and reflection, moving us toward stronger community connection. - Our Programs:
- Cinco de Mayo Festival, honoring Columbia’s historic 1862 celebration
- Building Bridges monthly community dialogues
- Historical research & museum exhibits
- Articles and publications that bring inclusive history into mainstream awareness. Together, these programs create a sustained ecosystem of belonging, cultural connection, and civic participation.
