Yosemite Rivers Alliance

Description

Mission:

Yosemite Rivers Alliance works to restore and protect the watersheds of the Tuolumne, Stanislaus and Merced River, as well as improve opportunities for outdoor recreation. We restore meadows in the Stanislaus National Forest, building beaver-dam type structures in streams to improve hydrology and removing invasive plants. Our wide scope of work also includes the ambitious SERAL fuels mitigation project in Tuolumne County, reforestation after the devastating 2013 Rim Fire, salmon habitat restoration, trail clearing and repair, youth environmental education in the Central Valley and advocacy for the Tuolumne, Merced and Stanislaus Rivers from the headwaters to the sea. Volunteer workdays take place primarily in in the Stanislaus National Forest from Highway 108 to 120. Volunteer work is hands-on, meaningful and a great opportunity to learn!

  • Tree planting in the Rim Fire Footprint
  • Meadow Restoration including the building of “Beaver Dam” like structures
