Girl Scouts Heart of Central California

Description

Mission:

Our mission is to build Girl Scouts of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Members unleash their potential through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities like earning badges, going on awesome trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects.

The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities that help Girl Scouts prepare for a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure. Our program is one-of-a-kind—it’s based on researched-backed programming with proven results.

Everything a Girl Scout does centers around four pillars: entrepreneurship, life skills, STEM, and outdoors. The program grows as Girl Scouts age, ensuring they are building upon their knowledge and advancing in their pursued interests. In Girl Scouts, girls develop the competencies, positive values, and strong sense of self to do big things, as well as the grit and strength that are essential to solving both every day and once-a-century challenges. That’s the Girl Scout difference.

Headquartered in Sacramento, Girl Scouts Heart of Central California (GSHCC) serves nearly 20,000 girl and adult members across 18 counties including: Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Mariposa, Merced, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tuolumne, Yuba, and Yolo. GSHCC operates regional program centers in Sacramento and Modesto, including two girl-led, girl-built STEM Center + MakerSpaces, and provides volunteer-led troops, family events, and camps throughout Northern and Central California.

Volunteer Needs:

Be the troop leader that supports them every week—the one that watches their smiles get bigger as they grow more confident. Be their mentor during the Girl Scout Cookie season so they can reach their goals. Or work with other adults to provide behind-the-scenes support that makes it possible for Girl Scouts to create amazing new memories.

Whether you can give a few hours, a few weeks, or a few months, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible and fun. Click below to explore all the ways you can volunteer!
